• Porcelain veneers

  Thin custom porcelain shells bonded to the front of the teeth to change their color, shape, or length. Often designed, milled, and placed in a single visit with CEREC.

• Cosmetic bonding

  Tooth-colored composite shaped directly on the tooth to repair chips, close small gaps, or reshape a tooth. Usually done in one visit, with little or no tooth preparation.

• Smile makeovers

  A plan for several teeth at once, combining veneers, bonding, gum recontouring, and whitening as needed. More complex makeovers may need additional visits.

• Digital smile preview

  See a design of your new smile before treatment begins, and adjust shape, length, and color until it looks right to you.

• Trial mock-ups

  A temporary version of the design placed over your teeth, so you can see and feel the new smile before anything is final.

• Gum recontouring

  Reshaping an uneven or "gummy" gum line so your teeth look balanced and in proportion.

• Veneers vs. bonding — which is right for me?

  It depends on how much you want to change. Cosmetic bonding uses tooth-colored composite shaped directly on the tooth. It's usually done in one visit, needs little or no tooth preparation, and is a good fit for a chip, a small gap, or reshaping one or two teeth. Composite can stain and wear over time, so bonding needs touch-ups sooner than porcelain. Porcelain veneers are custom shells bonded to the front of the teeth. They hold their color and polish better than composite and are the better fit when you want to change the color, shape, or length of several teeth. Veneers require removing a thin layer of enamel, so the change is permanent. At your consultation, your dentist will recommend what fits your teeth and goals — sometimes a mix of both, and sometimes whitening alone is enough.

• Who places veneers and cosmetic bonding?

  Both of our dentists — Dr. Mark Blaskovich, DMD, and Dr. Delaynie Field, DDS — place porcelain veneers and cosmetic bonding at our Pueblo West office, for patients from Pueblo West, Pueblo, and the surrounding area.

• How many visits do veneers and bonding take?

  Cosmetic bonding is usually done in one visit. Porcelain veneers are often designed, milled, and placed in a single visit with CEREC, our in-office milling system. More complex smile makeovers may need additional visits. Your consultation and smile preview come first, so you know the plan before treatment begins.

• Can I see what my smile will look like before I commit?

  Yes. We show you a digital smile preview of the final result before any treatment begins. For many cases we also make a trial mock-up — a temporary version of the design placed over your teeth — so you can see and feel the new smile before anything is final.

• How much do porcelain veneers cost in Pueblo West?

  Every case is different — we’ll give you a written estimate at your consultation, and we’re happy to check your insurance benefits. Veneer cost depends on how many teeth are involved and the complexity of the case. Cosmetic dentistry is generally not covered by insurance, but financing is available through CareCredit and Cherry.

• Do veneers ruin your natural teeth?

  Veneers remove only a thin layer of enamel from the front of the tooth, and the veneer is bonded to the healthy tooth structure underneath. Done well, veneers protect rather than damage the tooth. That said, the change is permanent — once enamel is removed, the tooth will always need to be covered by a veneer or crown. If you'd rather not remove any enamel, ask whether bonding could work for you.
